Born 1961 in St James, Trinidad, Ward
spent his formative years in Belmont, where he started his art by
drawing houses in his community. When he was 13 years old, his
family moved to Diego Martin. A versatile, self-taught artist,
Ward moves confidently within a variety of media : Oils,
Watercolours, Acrylic, Inks, Charcoal, Collages and Wood
sculpture.
He finds artistic inspirations all around him and challenges a
variety of subject matter. However, the female form remains one of
his main interest areas. Ward's brushwork moves from sensuous to
rugose. This paradox brings great emotional impact and animation
to his work. Strong lines and vibrant colours are symbolic with
his paintings.
Many Solo Exhibition from 1989.
