Beverly Thomas is a self taught artist
who has been painting professionally for 15 years.
Throughout her
formative years, Thomas loved art but never imagined that she
would become the successful, career artist she is today. Up to
graduating from secondary school, Beverly was encouraged to
pursue her painting so it became an all-consuming hobby. Pretty
soon, her love for art became more and more what she spent her
time doing and ultimately, it became her livelihood. Over the
years she honed her skills and developed her natural talent
through participation in art classes and workshops.
Inspired by
innate beauty, Beverly Thomas expresses her artistic abilities
through vibrantly painted, tropically themes pieces, using
acrylics as her medium of choice. She says; “I paint what I like
most….banana plants, coconuts, local flowers and beautiful
Caribbean women.”
Beverly’s
paintings have been exhibited in both Canada and in her
homeland. Her paintings can be found in several of the art
galleries across the country.
Beverly’s art
was featured in the Port of Spain International Waterfront
Gallery from April 2009, the opening of which coincided with the
hosting of the Summit of the Americas in Trinidad.
