Rachael Superville was born on the 4th November
1969 in Belize. She always liked to draw but it was when she
turned sixteen and received her first painting set from a friend
that she really began to explore. She started her formal
training in the arts at he age of 18 at St Johns College, in
Belize and moved on to study art briefly at Santa Monica College
in California before returning home to Belize to train teachers
in art education.
Rachael
continued painting on her own and decided to open Rachael's Art
gallery on Albert Street. Her objective was to promote young
Belizean artists. The gallery was well received by Belizeans
and foreigners and helped many an artist gain recognition.
In 1996 Rachael was invited to Carifesta in Trinidad, an art
fair that takes place every five years and feature artists from
around the Caribbean. There Rachael met her husband, a local
painter. A year later they were married and moved to Tobago
where they opened The Art Gallery.
Rachael’s
hobbies include Latin Dancing, Storytelling/Illustrating,
Gourmet Cooking, Travelling, and Interior Decorating.
Rachael has shown her work in Belize, Barbados, Honduras,
Mexico, Tobago, Trinidad, Antigua, Anguilla and New York.
The "5"
exhibition which takes place at Horizons Art Gallery from March
