umintra Ramkissoon was born on the 20^th May 1971. She grew up in a humble home amongst eleven children. She attended the Clarke Rochard Government School, the Siparia Junior Secondary School and the Barrachpore Senior Comprehensive. It was here she pursued the subject of Art because of her original love for it she obtained a distinction in the subject.

However, she was unable to pursue a career in Art because of various reasons. After several years of marriage Art was the furthest thing from her mind. Her husband, Kumar, surprised her one-day by purchasing materials for her to paint once again. He knew her favorite medium was acrylic and she loved to do nature scenes. Her work was kept private for a couple of years but was later encouraged by prominent persons to show pieces publicly. She got a great response. Her work began to be sold almost immediately. Since then her work has been featured in various galleries in Trinidad. She has also been commissioned to paint selective pieces. Her work is sold reasonable and can be easily afforded.
